Cristin's Portraits

This is beautiful Cristin. She and I have been friends for a long time now. She decided it was time for her to get some professional portraits and I was thrilled that she asked me to do so. Does the backdrop seem familiar? Well, it should! We shot this session last week, in conjunction with the previously posted shoot (Tracy & Jeff). It was such a gorgeous day! There was not a cloud in sight, which you might think would be the perfect shooting weather. In actuality, we photographers pray for clouds. Either that, or we shoot when the sun is low in the sky. Sometimes, it's just not possible to schedule our sessions when the sun is in its optimal position. That is when you learn to be creative. You learn hot to use the sun to your advantage. You find shade wherever possible, and when it's not, you make your own... And then there is the wind. Sometimes you just gotta go with it. Anyway, back to Cristin. Doesn't she look lovely?! This girl and I have made a lot of memories. We've lived together, cried together, and laughed until our sides hurt. She is leaving on an adventure soon and I'm going to miss her so much. She is truly beautiful both inside and out. Love ya, Cici!!

Tracy + Jeff Engagements

Dear Tracy, if you weren't so nice, smart, funny, easy going, (insert every good adjective here)... I'd probably dislike you for being so drop-dead gorgeous. JUST KIDDING. Not only is she one of my BFF's, but this girl is impossible to hate. In fact, I just love her guts. All I ask is that when they start making beautiful babies, I get to use them as my models as well. Okay, okay, got off topic. Back to talking about this shoot. I can't believe how well these images turned out, despite the elements working against us. It was the hottest day of the year so far (we're talking 3 digits) with wind gusts up to 19mph and not a cloud to be seen. I'd like to give all the credit to my beautiful models, my $20 couch (from the DI) as well as Rhett's awesome diffusion skills. Want an upper body workout? Go outside when it's windy and hold up a large piece of framed canvas, bonus points for letting it lift you from the ground. But seriously though, don't these look like they should be in a magazine? ... Drool. I ran out of time before I had to go to my day job (lame, I know), but don't be surprised if I keep adding more images to this post throughout the week... it's happened before, haha. Thanks, you two, for letting me be your photographer! You guys are the best!

FYI, I've still got some openings this fall. If you were hoping to do fall photos, please contact me soon. I'm also still looking for 1 more high school senior girl to be a part of our special all-inclusive senior photo shoot. This is an incredible deal. It includes professional hair, make-up, photo shoot (that comes with a disc of your photos). There is a $50 fee that covers the cost of the materials we plan to use (cosmetics, hair products, props, etc). I don't know if you've shopped around, but this is not something you could get anywhere else! We'll be documenting behind-the-scenes (photo-journalism style) for later use as marketing images for the same type of package (we are soon to be selling this package for a lot more).
